Death Anniversary of Sir Jean Henry Dunant on 30.10.2010

The Death Anniversary of Sir Jean Henry Dunant, founder of the Red Cross movement has been observed by Indian Red Cross Society, A.P. State Branch and its District Branches on 30.10.2010.  

 

The origin and History of Red Cross has been explained to the students of Red Cross Govt. Girls High School and Vocational Training institution, Masabtank to mark the observation of the day in commemoration of Jean Henry Dunant and his commendable services to the mankind in mitigating the human suffering.

A meeting was organized in the auditorium of PVKN Govt. College, Chittoor under the aegis of Indian Red Cross Society, Chittoor District Branch on 30.10.2010.    District collector Sri V. Sheshadri, I.A.S., was the Chief Guest and Sri M.V. Kesava Reddy, Secretary explained the life history of Henry Dunant. Students have participated in large numbers.

 

IRCS – Atmakur sub- branch of Nellore District has organized a programme on 30.10.2010 at its office. Sri CH. Murali Krishna, Secretary of IRCS Atmakur Sub – Branch has explained about Jean Henry Dunant services and activities of sub branch.


Blood Donation Camp at A.P Police Academy, Hyderabad held on 20.10.2010

October 21st is observed as Police Commemoration Day throughout the country. The day is observed to mark the devotion to duty and sacrifice of police officers and men in the service of the nation. On this day in the year 1959 a group of Indian police men on border patrol were attacked by the Chinese and they attained martyrdom while defending the country. Every year several Social welfare programmes are conducted around the country in this occasion.

 

 

On the eve of the above occasion, the A.P. Police Academy organized Voluntary Blood Donation Camp in coordination with Red Cross Blood Bank, Vidyanagar.

1006 police officers and personnel donated the Blood voluntarily Shri. Rajiv Trivedi, of A.P. Police Academy is the first officer who donated the blood at the camp.

 

Shri. Rajiv Trivedi said that the police force not only involved in maintenance of law and order but also playing a key role in community service activities by participating voluntary blood donation camps and   saving life of some one who needed blood transfusion.


Justice. A. Lakshmana Rao, Chairman, IRCS, A.P. State Branch   mentioned that there is considerable demand of safe blood to save life’s of needy.  Four persons out of every 1000 persons in the country donate blood voluntarily, it would be   suffice   to meet the demand and save lives. He Thanked the police officers and personnel who donated blood. He has also Thanked Shri. Rajiv Trivedi for organizing the Mega Blood Donation Camp.

 


State Level Junior Red Cross Meet Programme from 12th to 14th October 2010

Indian Red Cross Society, A.P. State Branch has organized a 3-Day State Level Junior Red Cross Meet Programme from 12th to 14th October,2010 at Panchavati Vidyalaya, Christianpally, Mahabubnagar District.

 

As many as 120 JRC Volunteers and 16 JRC Counselors arrived from 8 districts of Andhra Pradesh have been participated in the programme.  Collector and Hon. President of IRCS Mahabubnagar District Branch Sri. M. Purushotham Reddy, IAS, Sri N. Rajeshwar Reddy, MLA Mahabubnagar and other dignitaries have attended to grace the inaugural function held on 12th October,2010. 

 

 

On second day the 13th October, 2010 Additional Joint Collector Smt. B. Bharathi Lakpathi Naik, Sri K. Damodar Reddy, Chairman Zilla Parishad have attended the programme.

 

Justice A. Lakshmana Rao, Chairman of Indian Red Cross, A.P. State Branch has attended as the chief Guest at the valedictory function held on 14th October, 2010. All the participants have learned many useful subjects delivered in the academic sessions conducted during three days of programme.

 

Competitions were conducted and Prizes were awarded to the winners. The three day programme  has been successfully organized with the coordination of district secretary Sri Khaja Khutubuddin and  Lion. A.Natraj Member of State JRC/YRC Committee and Staff members of A.P. State Branch and District Branch. The entire programme has been covered by print and electronic media.

46th J.R.C Week Celebrations at Visakhapatnam District Branch from 7th to 13th August 2010

The Indian Red Cross Society, Visakhapatnam district branch has organized 46th JRC week celebrations from 7th to 13th August, 2010. This unique programme is creating history in AP Red Cross because it is being organized every year for the last 46 years by Visakhapatnam District Branch.
  
About 300 Junior Red Cross volunteers and counselors from 16 local High Schools attended the programme.  The inaugural function was held on 07.08.2010 which was presided by Dr. P. Venu Gopal,  District Branch Secretary.

In this connection, Inter School competitions, lectures on personal Health and School Hygiene, fund rising activities were conducted in a befitting manner. Prizes and rolling shields were awarded to the winners of competitions.

A “Route March” was organized on 12.08.2010 from Govt. Visakha Women’s College to the St Anthony School. As many as 700 Junior Red Cross volunteers participated in the march and received ovation from the general public of Visakhapatnam.

The entire week long programme was designed and organized by Dr. M.V.N Murthy


World Environment Day on 05.06.2010:

A Rally was conducted by Indian Red Cross Society AP Branch, at Hyderabad on the occasion of “World Environment Day” on 5th June 2010.


Blood Donation Camp on 27.03.2010:

Blood donation camp was organized at Solar Semiconductor Pvt. Ltd. Fabcity, Srinagar Village Maheshwaram Mandal, R.R District on 27th March 2010.  On that day 70 employees of Solar Semiconductor Pvt Ltd  donated blood.
